Brady documented the massive and dangerous volcanic eruption on the island of Montserrat during its first eruption in 350 years. Because the island was closed to boat and air travel due to the eruption, Brady was able to provide a three-day exclusive story to Discovery Channel by documenting the actual eruption and its chaotic aftermath. He was on the ground with cameras as the island nation’s capital of Plymouth was evacuated — and eventually abandoned — due to the extensive three-foot layer of ash. Brady flew directly over the sulphurous volcanic crater in a helicopter the day after the eruption and was the sole aerial documentor of the dramatic pyroclastic flows hitting the Caribbean Sea.
