As part of Base Camp Films’ long-time partnership with The American Red Cross, Brady and crew documented the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, including working with disaster crisis teams in the Lower 9th Ward and throughout New Orleans.
While in Louisiana, another Category 5 hurricane, the most intense tropical cyclone ever recorded in the Atlantic basin, was headed for Florida…Hurricane Wilma. Brady and crew traveled with the American Red Cross into the path of the hurricane to arrive in Naples, Florida before it made landfall so that the crisis team would be the first on the ground to assist. Wilma was a direct hit on Naples — the team documented the entire hurricane from start to finish, including massive evacuations, overcrowded shelters, and the aftermath response. Wilma left 62 dead and $19 billion in U.S. damage.
